Kids! fish on the lake, find the white heron and turtles! The race track/bumper cars at TimBuck II are lots of fun and after dinner stop by Buck’s ice cream to eat on the playground. Dare you to climb the lighthouse at the Whalehead club (1/2 mile North on 12). There’s also a skateboard park and NYC style pizza in plaza across from Lighthouse. There are sand burs on the island so please wear your flip flops . |

Parents/Guests: Beach access is about 3 blocks walk on the sandy path around the lake. A sandcart is provided to carry beach stuff. If you’d rather drive to the beach there is public parking in Whalehead which is located in the neighborhood behind the food lion. Its approx. 4 blocks north on the front street. Leave us a note in the guest book of activities you enjoyed to share with other guests. We hope you have good weather and a great stay. NEW: What to cook when on vacation. I’m putting a link to LetsDish for those of you who live nearby one. It’s a ready-meal place. You can make them to cook later or pick them up pre-made but it’s a great way to have dinner taken care of. If you have a big crowd double the orders. Bring the flat trays stacked in your coolers. We have no relationship with LetsDish and there are many alternative shops that do this. Northern VA has 3 competing companies I know of. |
